I yearn

I yearn

For an infinite supply

Of hugs

A safe touch

That doesn’t hurt

I yearn

For someone to say

I love you

And mean it

I yearn

Oh will I ever learn?

That no matter how much I yearn

I don’t give my trust easily

Or love unconditionally

Not always

But I do try

I try hard

Does that count for something?

Am I seen?

Yearning for love I might never get

Makes me feel like a fool

And I do fret.
