Recently I took a big risk. I opened up to Dr. Barry. About a trauma we suffered last year. I was nervous, but I needed to offload, and she’s a good listener, and I know she really caresabout me. So I told her all about it and I went into a lot of detail. I id the right thing. I felt as though she heard me, listened, and understood where I was coming from. And why I had responded how I did. Trusting others is hard for me, so to bring it up was a huge deal, but I am so glad I did.
Getting something off the chest is not only speaking about the matter but there is another obstacle as you said: trusting the person you are talking to. Two big steps to take, but I think that trust step is the tougher. However, if you took that first step the second follows by itself and relief is the big reward!
