I joke with people about my sleep.
I joke about not sleeping good, not being able to fall asleep.
Every night is the same.
I’m up into the wee hours of the morning.
Sometimes, I’m up until daylight hits.
Only then can I sleep for a few hours.
This not being able to sleep stems from a trauma filled childhood.
Trauma does crazy things to your brain. You get triggered, and it makes you feel like your back there, back in your past.
My not being able to sleep stems from many things that happened to me in childhood.
I’ve tried lots of remedies to help with my sleep, but so far, none worked.
All I can do is keep trying I guess.
And hoping, that some day I’ll hit upon the right remedy.

I was always playing solitaire or cribbage on the computer to try and get me ‘dopey’ enough to sleep, but it just seemed to make me wake up the brain! Now I’m reading a good book and I’m sleeping better!
