Fandangos story starter #89

The warm, golden glow of the streetlight outside her bedroom window gave Marilou the illusion of security. But that’s all it was, was an illusion. She tried to drift off to sleep, but her thoughts kept her up. She tossed and turned and eventually she gave up. She’d get up and make a cup of coffee. As she sat drinking her coffee she thought she heard a rustling noise outside her window. She squinted as she tried to look. She couldn’t see anyone or anything, then, the noise grew louder, was it an animal? A human? She didn’t know, but she wasn’t going to find out. She quickly ran back to her bedroom and locked her bedroom door. If someone came in to her apartment, she’d have time to call for help. She hoped that wouldn’t happen though.
