Not up to it!

I was supposed to have an apt this afternoon with my dietician.

We were going to have a phone apt.

It was scheduled for 2 PM.

But I’m not in the mood. So I texted her to reschedule it.

She texted me back, saying she could fit me in on May 16th.

I’m glad. I have not been sticking to my food plan anyway, so it would’ve been a wasted apt.

Hopefully when I see her in two weeks’ time I’ll be feeling better about things.

Right now I am hating my body.

I am hating having to see a dietician. And I am hating having an eating disorder.

Everything is getting to me today. I think I am tired, I slept poorly last night.

When I am tired, I feel irritable.

It isn’t a good combination!

  1. I think you are very courageous to deal with your eating issues. To me, they are survival strategies that don’t do their job anymore. It’s time to create new habits and you can do that. I hope you’ll find a gentler approch to your body. Our bodies deserve all the love we can give them because they store so much of our traumas. No wonder they have issues. Sending you a gentle hug. 🥰

    1. Why do you hate your body? Because it’s nice and soft?

Do you know that the number of places and historic periods on this planet in which it is the bountifully built ladies who have been (and are yet today) admired as the most desirable of women in every way, while bags of jutting bones like myself (and most high fashion models) are pitied as pretty much unmarriageable?

I’ve hugged both, and I myself agree that you feel much better to get close to.

Humanity’s most ancient and venerable artistic representations of beauty were of what we would now call “plus-plus” size body types.

It’s our favorite ~ even if we don’t like to admit it just now.

It usually takes just about one generation ~ for the public notion of desirabity to swing full circle.

Back before Marilyn Monroe’s day, a size 12 was considered ideal. True. There’s even a line in a movie about it: “I’ve always had an eye for a size twelve woman.”

It was a mighty suave amd handsome movie star who said it, too.

Take heart, my dear ~ in your case, they really DON’T know what they’re missing!

  2. Oh hugs to you, Carol Anne. There are those days when we just don’t like ourselves. I hope you don’t get too disheartened if you are unable to stick to your meal plan. 🩷💜
