Random encounters with a stranger

Daily writing prompt
Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

I have many random encounters with strangers, especially at the grocery store. One that sticks out that was more recent, was, I was in a store, and my visa card was denied at the check out. I was at the self service check out, so I had to wait for assistance. A man that was behind me said if I didn’t mind, he’d like to pay for my goods, which was about 10 euros worth of stuff. I thanked him but said I could not let him do that. He insisted, and said it wasnt a problem, he also said he was in a little bit of a rush for work. I prefer to think he was kind, and out of the kindness of his heart he was paying for my items.
