This morning mom decided she felt well enough to take a shower by herself.
The shower room is in her ward, and there is a seat in the shower so she can sit down while she showers.
Off she went to have her shower.
She was half way through, when the bathroom flooded, all the water started going out under the door into the ward.
The nurses came running in to stop the water from flooding the ward.
Mom was like, there I was, completely naked, and with nurses running in to the bathroom, helping me out of the shower.
She got breathless, and she had to get her oxygen and use it.
I felt so bad for her!
What an embarrassing thing to happen!
But at least she was almost done showering when it happened, so she did manage to get clean.
And the rest of her morning and afternoon went well!
The consultant was in to see her, and he said she will be able to go home next week, but for now, she’s on this medication that helps her to cough up the phlegm, it goes in her nebulizer.
So things are looking up!

Too bad the shower flooded. I do know from being in the hospital myself recently, that it’s best to just forget about modesty and being embarrassed. Hospital workers are there to help, and have seen everything anyway. Hope your mom is doing better and will be home soon. 🙂

That’s what I told her, the nurses are used to seeing all sorts of things, they don’t even bat an eyelid 😘😘

Ugh how awful! Poor your mum! Hope they fix it really soon so neither she nor anyone else will have to deal with such a thing again.
