Holiday magic

Soft echo of crowds,
a winter hush between songs—
I lift my gaze up.
Glass roof breathing in the glow
of a towering Christmas tree.

Strings of warming light
spill like whispers through the air;
shoppers drift like snow.
For a moment, all is still—
holiday magic found here.

    Carol, what a beautifully crafted piece. You have a gift for capturing not just images, but the very atmosphere of a moment. The contrast between the soft echo of crowds and the “winter hush” is exquisite, and the image of the glass roof “breathing in the glow” is simply magical. You’ve turned a bustling holiday scene into a serene, almost sacred, observation. This is a lovely little pocket of peace, perfectly framed in words. Thank you for sharing it.🌷🤝
