Paper forest

Elena and Mira spent a rainy afternoon turning their small attic into a paper wilderness. With scissors, glue, and a rainbow of scraps, they folded foxes, cranes, bears, and deer, each creature balanced carefully along old wooden beams. Elena shaped towering trees from rolled green pages, while Mira sketched tiny leaves and shadows to give the forest depth. Soon the attic glowed with color, as though dawn itself had settled inside. The sisters whispered stories for every creature, imagining their secret paths and gentle songs. When thunder rumbled outside, the paper herd rustled in the draft, seeming almost alive. They added a waterfall of shimmering foil and a moon cut from silver cardstock. Under its glow, their handmade forest felt endless. As evening deepened, Elena and Mira stood back, hands stained with ink and glue, smiling at the world they had built—fragile, wild, and wonderfully their own. That rainy day.
