On a spooky Halloween night, the wind howled through the empty streets.
Lila clutched her candy bag tightly, whispering “trick or treat” at every dark doorstep.
Most houses were quiet, their lights dim, but one glowed with a strange green hue.
When she knocked, the door creaked open by itself, revealing rows of floating pumpkins.
A ghostly voice chuckled, “You’ve been very brave, little one—here’s your special treat.”
Lila gasped as her candy turned to gold, and the house vanished into the night mist.
