Where time slips

This is written in response to Jim Adam’s Thursday inspiration prompt. This week we are to respond by using the word time somewhere in our writing.

I’ve written a poem about dissociating and losing time.

Thursday Inspiration #302 Right Place, Wrong Time – A Unique Title For Me

I blink—
and the room exhales into strangers.
Light folds itself into corners
I don’t remember painting.

My hands are here,
but they’re not mine
just instruments borrowed
from a quieter ghost.

The clock hums softly,
a polite reminder that
something is passing—
or already has.

Time drips, not ticks—
it pools around my feet,
slipping through the cracks
of thought and breath.

I come back
to the echo of a moment
that doesn’t know my name.

Was I gone,
or was I never here
to begin with?

nice post, Carol Anne but it is hard for me to determine whether you are gone, or perhaps you were never here to begin with.

Thank you for reading, liking, and commenting to my posts.  It is very appreciated.

I am currently raising money to pay for ongoing psychotherapy. I am a survivor of complex trauma, I have dissociative identity disorder, and complex PTSD.  Therapy can be very expensive.

If you feel like donating to my fund you can donate using pay pal. My pay pal email for donating is:

Manyofus1980@gmail.com

Don’t feel you have to, there is no pressure, but I’m grateful for any donations that are received.

Again thanks for visiting!
