Deep in the mountain’s molten core,
A rumble stirs—a primal roar.
The earth begins to quake and sigh,
As fire awakens, reaching high.

A crimson glow beneath the stone,
The mountain shakes, its fury grown.
Then with a thunderous, blazing cry,
The molten heart ignites the sky.

Lava fountains leap and gleam,
A molten river, fierce and keen.
Ashes bloom like ghostly rain,
Dark veils across the trembling plain.

The air is thick with sulfur’s breath,
A dance of beauty born from death.
The forest bows, the oceans reel,
Before the power none can steal.

And when the fury ebbs and fades,
The mountain sleeps in ember shades.
From ruin’s ash, the earth will thrive—
The mountain burns, yet keeps alive.

Wow! Impressive, Carol Anne! I’m usually not a fan of rhyming poetry but I loved this piece. Especially this line – “A dance of beauty born from death.” Gorgeous!
