Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “at the beginning.” Use it any way you’re inspired to. Enjoy!

At the beginning healing is challenging
like learning to breathe in a new season,
where the air tastes of memory and salt,
and every step sounds louder than it should.

You trace your pain like constellations,
naming each wound for what it once meant —
a promise, a loss, a quiet collapse.
You learn the language of your own undoing.

But slowly, the ache softens its edges.
You notice how light spills differently now,
how morning forgives the night without asking,
how the body still hums — not broken, but becoming.

In time, healing is less about fixing
and more about allowing —
letting the rain fall where it must,
letting the heart grow wild again.

It powerfully reframes healing not as a battle to be won, but as a gradual, organic process of acceptance and transformation. The shift from the loud, painful early stages (“naming each wound”) to the quiet, almost passive later stage (“allowing”) is profoundly truthful. The final image of the heart growing “wild again” is a perfect conclusion—it suggests not a return to a former self, but the emergence of something more resilient, free, and authentically alive.

Thank you for reading, liking, and commenting to my posts.  It is very appreciated.

I am currently raising money to pay for ongoing psychotherapy. I am a survivor of complex trauma, I have dissociative identity disorder, and complex PTSD.  Therapy can be very expensive.

If you feel like donating to my fund you can donate using pay pal. My pay pal email for donating is:

Don’t feel you have to, there is no pressure, but I’m grateful for any donations that are received.

Again thanks for visiting!
