This week for song lyric Sunday our mission is to find a song from a second album. I chose pink, and her album Misunderstood.
The song I chose is get this party started.
This is a great song to dance to, and I love it. I love the upbeat tempo.

Great choice, Carol Anne as I have always loved this song. Linda Perry the frontwoman for 4 Non Blondes write this song when she moved to L.A. after she decided that she didn’t want to be an artist anymore. She purchased an Akai MPC music workstation that combined sampling and sequencing functions along with a Korg Triton music workstation digital synthesizer and Pro Tools music software used for music creation and production. She started experimenting with her new equipment and found it to be fun. She came up with a beat, laid it down, found all these weird chords and sounds and put in the horns, then she used her guitar for the wah-wahs. She let that beat play for three and a half minutes, but she couldn’t find a good bass sound, so she grabbed her own bass still trying to figure out what all this shit did. This resulted in her creating the whole track of ‘Get the Party Started’.
Awesome 🙂
