Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 06/24/2025 – Stine Writing
Two green iguanas, side by side,
Perched on a branch with scaly pride,
Beneath the moon’s soft silver gleam,
They basked within a jungle dream.
The night was warm, the breeze was slow,
The stars above began to glow,
And through the dark, in golden dance,
The fireflies began their trance.
One iguana blinked an eye,
And said, “My friend, what lights the sky?”
The other grinned, with sleepy cheer,
“It’s tiny stars that wander near!”
They watched the fireflies swirl and spin,
A sparkling show on jungle skin,
Some zipped by fast, some floated still,
Each twinkle gave a little thrill.
The iguanas swayed upon their perch,
Like leafy monks in twilight church,
While fireflies in glowing flight
Became their lanterns in the night.
No need to chase, no need to climb,
They simply soaked in firefly time,
Two pals, one branch, no need to roam—
The jungle night had brought the show home.
