This week our challenge is to write a poem using the 3 words game, hot, until.
Monday Poetry Prompt: Game, Hot, Until | Living Poetry
We played like it was more than just a game,
The air around us thick and wild and hot,
Laughter echoing loud until the dark came.
The field was dust, our feet a blur in flame,
Hearts sprinting faster than the thoughts we got.
We played like it was more than just a game.
The sun beat down with no one left to blame,
Each breath we took, a furnace — burning, caught,
The air around us thick and wild and hot.
Time slipped like sand, but none of us felt shame,
We stayed out long, our innocence well-bought —
Laughter echoing loud until the dark came.
