So true! I once had a friend who was scheduled for surgery to correct his lifelong debilitating epilepsy. I asked him if its success might leave him a bit “empty” since the epilepsy had always been a part of him. He was shocked to think about it that way.
The operation was a success, and he admitted to me later on, he did feel a “loss” for a short while.
Glad his operation was a success, I guess you would feel a loss 😍😁
