You’re not just fur and wagging tail,
Or eager steps upon the trail,
You’re quiet looks that say so much,
A loyal soul, a gentle touch.
When morning breaks, you greet the day
With eyes that chase my doubts away.
No need for words, your steady gaze
Is comfort in a world that sways.
You listen when no one else can,
You love me simply, dog to man.
No judgment passed, no need to lie—
Just warm devotion, pure and shy.
Through every storm, through grief or grace,
You find the smile upon my face.
And when I break, you understand—
Your paw a balm, your heart a hand.
They say love fades with passing years,
But mine grows deeper with the tears
And laughter shared, the walks we take,
The little leaps my heart does make.
So here’s to you, my furry friend,
My shadow, start, and softest end.
My home is anywhere you roam—
With you, I’m never far from home.
