Thanks Nolcha for the quirky prompt! Our challenge is to write a poem using a misheard song lyric, use the lyric somewhere in the poem.

Double Quirky Prompt 3 – Addicted to Words

I chose abba’s dancing queen, the misheard lyric is feel the beat on the tangerine, the correct one is feel the beat of the tamberine.

Here is my poem with the misheard lyric.

Feel the Beat on the Tangerine

Feel the beat on the tangerine,
In a world where colors dream,
Orange whispers, soft and bright,
Dancing through the velvet night.

Tangerine skies, a mellow hue,
As rhythm paints the world anew.
Juicy echoes on the breeze,
Swaying like the swaying trees.

The melody’s sweet, it’s so serene,
Like sunset glow on a summer scene.
Feel the pulse, it’s smooth and free,
A citrus symphony, wild and free.

Beneath the stars, we drift and spin,
The beat’s a secret, held within.
Feel the magic, feel the sheen,
As we dance with the tangerine.
