WE had an amazing day for my nephews confirmation.
I got up at 6:30 this morning, after only sleeping very lightly last night.
I got ready, and mom did too. We headed to the church at 9:30, getting there by 10 AM!
The service started at 10:30.
There were 53 kids making their confirmation. The service was beautiful. All the kids sang songs, and read prayers, and brought up gifts to the altar.
It was a long service, it went on for over 1.5 hours.
After the service was over there were class photos taken, and then my sister took some of her own photos.
We then went back to mom and dad’s house, so that my nephew could see my dad, who wasn’t able to go to the church.
He opened his cards, which all contained cash, it is custom for kids to make a lot of money on their confirmation.
He had some photos taken with all of us again back at the house.
Then my sister and her family left, they were going to her partner’s parents house for an hour.
We that is mom, my two aunts and I went to the hotel where the meal was taking place.
We had to decorate the room with banners and balloons, and since we had gotten there early, we had some coffees, and my two aunts got food.
The dinner was at 4 PM.
It was a four course meal.
I had duck spring rolls for starters, roast beef, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, and vegetables and gravy for the main, warm apple pie with custard for dessert and then a cup of coffee to finish.
The food was amazing! Everything tasted so good!
My niece’s boyfriend Kyle came to the meal, and we all got to meet him.
He’s a lovely boy.
He wore a pink T-shirt so that he’d be matching my niece who was waring a pink dress.
It was very cute.
We did not finish up at the hotel and finish our dinner until 7 PM!
I really enjoyed the day, it was so nice, and I am very proud of my nephew.
