Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “open book, close eyes, point, write.” When you’re ready to sit down and write your SoCS post, open the closest printed matter, close your eyes, point to a word, and use it as your prompt. Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
😊
Right, the word is from the title of my new book, and, the word is fault.
Here is my stream of consciousness post!
The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 8, 2025 |
**Is It My Fault?**
In shadows deep, where silence grew,
A child’s heart questioned what was true,
With every bruise, each whispered night,
The world unfolded, dim and tight.
A tiny frame, yet burdens vast,
Memories echo from the past,
In tender dreams, the laughter died,
Replaced with tears, the heart’s divide.
"Is it my fault?" the child would plea,
Innocence lost, yearning to be free,
A fragile soul, through trials tossed,
Carrying scars for what was lost.
Each harsh word struck like summer rain,
A tempest brewed within the pain,
When love was meant to keep her warm,
Instead, she faced a raging storm.
Yet in the darkness, stars would shine,
A whisper came, "You will be fine."
With every tear that stained the floor,
The heart grew strong; it learned to soar.
In fragments pieced, a story spun,
Resilience forged, a battle won,
Through tangled years, the spirit fought,
And slowly learned: “It’s not my fault.”
So here she stands, both brave and bold,
A tale retold, yet not controlled,
From ashes rise, a phoenix flight,
A voice reclaimed, a heart of light.
"Is it my fault?"—the past now fades,
In healing hands, the love cascades,
For in survival’s tender grace,
She finds her strength, her rightful place.
