Sweltering heat, no reprieve
Moon’s pale glow, my window’s sieve
Night’s oppressive weight, I lie
Awake, as sweat drips down my thigh
No breeze stirs, no cloud drifts by
The stars above, a distant sigh
I toss and turn, my sheets a mess
Heat and frustration, a perfect blend
Summer’s grasp, I’m caught in its sway
A restless night, without a say
The darkness whispers, "Rest awhile"
But sleep’s elusive, my heart’s wild
