Well, this morning, I am off to our local university. I am going to help out with a blindness related event that our local blindness agency are running.
Basically, there will be a whole lot of equipment that makes blind people’s lives better, adaptive technology, like braille note takers, amazon devices, iPads, iPhones, all sorts of independent living aids and gadgets and my job will be to demonstrate them to other blind people who don’t know about them, or how to use them.
The event is on for 2 hours. We’ll also have coffee and a bit of a chat.
It should be a nice few hours. I wonder if I’ll meet many people who I know. The blindness community here in Cork is quite small, I’m bound to run into someone who knows me or who I know.
Having used a lot of the equipment that they are demonstrating myself for years, I know a lot of tips and tricks, and can hopefully show others there how to go about using the equipment in the right way or the way that best suits their needs.
