For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a couple of candles sitting on a table. Their flames have been just extinguished and the tips are still smoldering, with whips of smoke coming out of them.

I am writing a tanka for this prompt!

Candles flicker bright,

Smoke dances, embers ignite,

Light fills up the room,

Extinguish the burnt-out past,

New beginnings now bloom.

Exactly what we should do! Let go of things that are no longer helpful but only harmful.

    Carol Anne,

The vivid imagery in your tanka captivates. The metaphorical use of candles and the interplay of light and darkness eloquently convey the theme of renewal and new beginnings!
