Come on, todd, come on! We have to do this!

If we don’t, the ducks will all drown!

Todd stood by the hole and looked into it.

Two baby ducks were trapped inside, and he needed to jump in to save them.

He knew they’d perish if he wasn’t quick.

1, 2, 3, he steeled himself, then without a second glance, he hurled himself into the hole, hoping he wouldn’t spook the ducks upon impact.

His friend Ian watched from the sidelines. He wasn’t able to swim so he could not jump in to save the ducks.

“I got them”, Todd said, they’re barely alive.

Struggling to get out, he did manage to make his way out of the hole.

The two baby ducks were so cold, Todd thought they were surely going to die.

He wrapped them in a towel, and told Ian to phone the bird sanctuary.

They didn’t have much time.

Todd wanted this to end well, not in tragedy.
