The photo this week for the prompt is a picture of a goose with its mouth open!

“I’m starving”, Ellie said to her goose friends on the lake.

“Do you think that family over there are coming to feed us?”

She stared off in the distance. A mom, dad and their two kids were walking towards the lake.

“Yes! I think they are, she honked!

As the family grew closer, Ellie stopped honking.

She wanted to see if they’d brought bird seed.

Of course they had!

The little girl knelt down, and starting talking to Ellie and the other geese.

Hey”, goosey, want some food?”

The other geese were scared, but Elly went up to her, and honked loudly.

The little girl smiled, and began throwing the seed in the lake!

Ellie was delightded!

She knew she’d made a friend for life!

Aw, cute. After we lost Maggie we’d often go to the lake to feed the ducks. they were quite partial to bird seed, as were the geese. The signs said do not feed the geese, and we weren’t! Not our fault if they tried to muscle in!

She disappeared without a trace which was really odd.

We have some theories in that as she was trusting of people, somebody lifted her and took her home, another is that she was just visiting and flew away, and a couple of others are too sad to think about.

Smart goose knew to stay quiet until the right moment! I heard geese can be pretty aggressive so Ellie better be ready to run!
