For the visually challenged writer, the painting shows a young girl sitting on a bucket in her bedroom looking at her reflection in a full-length mirror. She seems to have a fashion magazine open on her lap. On the floor next to her left foot is a doll on and some make-up brushes.

Zara smiled. She knew what she wanted to do.

She wanted to look like the beautiful women she saw in her fashion magazine.

She would practice applying make up on her doll.

That would be a good start she thought.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her face looked kind of pasty.

She read through a few of the tips in the magazine. She liked what she read.

She could do this.

She picked up her makeup brushes and her doll.

Ready? She said to nobody in particular.

She was ready. So she began.

This was going to be a great adventure.
