A mother fixes supper
Her little girl plays happily
By the firelight
Happy gay and bright
Supper is ready
They eat heartily
Two generations
Mother and daughter
They look like each other
Once supper is done
Mom gets her little girl
Ready for sleep
She tucks her in
Reads her a bedtime story
Then its good night kisses
And a hug
And an I love you
As they high five
See you in the morning pet
Mom says
Its lights out now
Time to sleep
She tiptoes from her little girls bedroom
Goes downstairs
Makes herself a brew
And before long
She too
Is fast asleep
