Fandango is the host of the story starter challenge, which is a weekly challenge, where he gives us the start of a sentence, and our job is to create a story out of it. Here is what he says about the challenge!

Its time for my weekly Story Starter prompt. Heres how it works. Every Tuesday morning (my time), Im going to give you an incomplete teaser sentence and your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a story (prose or poetry) around that partial sentence. It doesnt have to be the first sentence in your story, and you dont even have to use it in your post at all if you dont want to. The purpose of the teaser is simply to spark your imagination and to get your storytelling juices flowing

This weeks Story Starter teaser is:

As soon as she stepped into the room she realized that

As soon as she stepped into the room she realised that
People were watching her
She was unsure of what to do next
Where should she look?
She was shy, and very unsure of herself
As she walked across the crowded room
She came to the realisation that
She needed to believe in herself
Others seemed to believe in her abilities
So now she should believe in them too
Reaching the top of the room
She took a deep breath
This was her time
She would go out there and show them all
She would speak and let her voice ring out
She gingerly stepped onto the stage
And began to speak
3, 2, 1, silence
A deafening silence fell upon the room
As she told her story
About her past and her trauma
The room was silent
And at the end of her speech
She knew
She’d done the right thing in speaking out
Nothing was holding her back now
She felt free!
