Our government said last night we’re on complete lockdown now. We’re restricted from going 2 kilometres outside of our home to walk, only essential workers are allowed to go to work, we’re only allowed out to buy essential food or medications.
I knew this was coming, it was only a matter of time before they implemented it. I suppose its necessary to stop the spread of the virus, but it sure does make life difficult.
I had gone to my parents house for the weekend, so now I have to find a way to get home, well I think public transport is still running, although its scaled back a lot now.
I’ll wait now until tomorrow to go home. But once I do, I’ll be in the house for the next two weeks, and I am positive it will go on for longer than that.
Its a scary time for all of us.

I am surprised that did not happen sooner, as in the UK it came in from Monday night, where only key workers can work otherwise for the rest of us it’s only for groceries or healthcare.
I have not bern at work since Tuesday and it will be like this for 3 weeks, reviewed as they go along as to whether it can be lifted or kept as it is.

There were minor restrictions from Monday but now its major, until april 11th and then to be reviewed again. x

Do people actually pay attention? We went on almost total lockdown last night, and my store, which is considered essential, is doing record business selling stuff that really isn’t essential. I’ve complained about that here and other places before, but as of today it’s supposed to be really strict, but it had no effect at all.

Yes most people here are sticking to it and paying attention which is good I think

I wish they did here, maybe when we get more deaths in our area people will take it seriously.

I hope so, but I hope you don’t get too many deaths, we’ve had 19 so far

We have only six confirmed cases and one death. I’ve been told that there are a lot more cases, we just don’t have a way to test people, so it’s not in the official numbers.

Oh, they are testing people a lot over here now. They put a lot of measures in place for testing people they have even set up test centres

    Where are you? Ireland here.

Not that strict here yet but moving in that direction as people are not listening to advice.

It’s a bit surreal, and I know I have trouble with it myself, as it’s a restricts your freedom. What doesn’t help is that online there is so much misinformation. I do feel that the mainstream media is ramping up the fear, but then, on the other hand, the doomsday people are driving as much fear into peoples hearts.

One thing I do know is, countries just don’t shut down for no reason, whatever this is, and where ever it came from, they have lost control of it, and don’t know what is going to happen next.

We have to take it seriously, that much is clear.

Ireland here too. We are now locked down as of last night. But you probably know that if you’re in Ireland as well
It’s very surreal I do agree
Don’t know how I’m going to occupy myself for so long the next two weeks are going to be so tough

Oh! I’m in cork. 2 KM is all we’re allowed to go now from our home, and the guards are even out stopping people and asking them where they are going! And how far they intend to go from home!

Oh, that’s very restrictive, but I hope it does what it’s supposed to do and the virus will be spreading at least a bit less than it would otherwise.
