Good grief, where does the time go? I posted a poem last time on the 29th? Oops!
Well, here I am and Carol Anne has really challenged me this time with her prompts. (That is probably the reason for my absence 🙂 )
So, this week’s prompt from Carol Anne is
“Feeling Beautiful”
and it reminds me of an advert that I saw a lot recently: One of the Spice Girls is advertising for some beauty cream stating that it reduces wrinkles and that we are worth it. Every time I see this advert I think: “But I do not want to reduce my wrinkles! I want to grow old gracefully.” Wrinkles symbolise wisdom for me and life-experience and not something I need to erase or hide.
I am worth my wisdom and life-experience because I worked hard to survive all the drama and challenges and I am not going to hide them. My hang-ups are in other areas.
So what am I going to do with this prompt? I do this 🙂
I am worth it
I don’t care!
Am I a museum’s piece?
Worth only in perfect condition?
It begs believe what they want us to be!
It bothers me.
Worth only the young.
Am I the only one?
I feel beautiful, no matter what!
Happy Thursday to all of you and let me tell you: I think you are beautiful, no matter what!!!!!
