well guys, bad news, more bad news.
my supervisor told me today on the drive to the office that another client died. His name was daniel. He was in his 80’s. He was one of my regular callers. He was such a kind, gentle man. A very genuine warm kind caring person.
We arent sure what exactly happened to him. I talked to him last Tuesday afternoon, and then I couldnt get through to him on friday, but it turns out that by then he was already dead, we just didnt know it yet. My supervisor went on rip.ie which is a site where you can find out whose died. She saw his name on there.
I am heartbroken as I knew this guy really well. I am saddened at his loss. I will really miss him. He always made me laugh, and I looked forward to our chats every week.
We’ve lost four of our clients in the space of 2 or 3 weeks now. Its so sad. I really hope we dont lose anyone else. I really feel unable to handle any more loss. I am struggling as it is. I am really finding it difficult to come to terms with all these losses.
If you pray, please pray. If not, send good vibes thoughts to me. I really need them right now. I just hope all of the clients who died lately are now at peace.

Praying for you. It’s hard when people die and the grieving process takes time. So to be grieving so many so soon is extra hard. Let yourself be angry or sad or however you are feeling but if it is overwhelming you talk to someone. ((HUGS))

Yes I will, I will talk to someone if I feel too overwhelmed, right now I’m feeling quite overwhelmed but I’m just going to lie down and sleep for a while

JUst remember his spirit is out there and you can talk to him.. I know its not the same and in no way diminishes the sadness you feel. Death when it comes just cant be argued with. Sending you lots of love and a huge hug 💜💙💛

I’m sorry to hear that your client passed away. It’s heard after you get to know someone and he passed away. I pray that you feel better after your rest. I pray also he has gone to a better place with no pain or suffering. My family came back to the US from a trip to Hong Kong to attend my nephew’s wedding. While we were there, one sister went into the hospital and passed away in three days. It was overwhelming to me also because I just heard from her less than two weeks before she died. She now rests in heaven.

I only take one client at a time because I’m retired and still have to deal with the side effect left from the cancer treatment 10 years ago.

I have lymph-edema (swelling) on my left leg because of removal of lymph nodes. Have to wear compression stocking every day, can’t do too much running around or run too many errands all at once. xox

This sounds really hard for you. It also sounds like the death of clients is going to be something you have to deal with over and over again, simply because of the vulnerable nature of the client population – lots of them are elderly or mentally or physically unwell. Are you sure this is something you want to do, given your own vulnerabilities? And if it is something that is important to you to continue, do you genuinely have the necessary support in place to look after your own wellbeing? Thinking of you ❤

I do. I have Eileen and dr. barrys support. I can talk about this with them. I am also given support by my supervisor in friendly call. This work is so important to me. I guess I am just getting used to clients passing still. Its never easy. XXX

You are in my prayers every morning dear. You can manage that. You have a good supervisor and therapists who help you and it will get better. It’s often this time of the year that many older people pass away. They are at peace now and that is a good thing 😗🙋❤🐝
