Question of the day

Are you happy with how you look?

I cant be the only one who isnt. Am I?
I decided to ask to see what others have to say on the matter.
So? Are you happy with your looks?

I think this is a struggle for most people. I think we focus so much on appearances and care too much what people think about us. Question is: are you genuinely happy? Not just with how you look. If losing however many pounds will make you happy then do it, if curling your hair every morning will make you happy then do it, if cleaning house all day makes you happy then do it. Don’t just do things because the doctor tells you to or because someone is judging you. Do it for you. Once you work on you and your happiness, you will feel much better about yourself, looks and all. I have gotten to the point where I nit pick at things that aren’t even noticeable to anyone but me. I am still working on my happiness to where I am in a good place mentally, emotionally, and physically. I don’t think that journey ever ends. Feel free to agree or disagree. What do you think?

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m happy with how I look, but I’m satisfied, and for the most part I’ve come to terms with the extra weight I’m carrying because of my meds.

Well I’m 57, so sure I notice aging stuff, but mostly I wish I wasn’t in chronic pain. Appreciate your youth!

I think the majority of us are unhappy about some part of ourselves. Not all of us will say it out loud though. I am not happy about how I look, but can’t seem to do anything about it. I agree with Paula about wishing I was not in chronic pain.

Thanks! I wish I weren’t in so much pain myself. It is getting worse and moving at all causing unbearable pain at most of the time I don’t want to move.

I don’t really care how I look so much as I find having large breasts and being overweight physically uncomfortable – chafing and bouncing around when I want to do anything physically demanding. But I do sometimes look in the mirror and feel very surprised at how old I am, because I feel much younger and less mature on the inside.

At 60, I think I am finally accepting myself. So many years lost focusing on my imperfections.

I wish you could too. Women have enough pressures in life to have worry about appearance too.

Honestly careless how others see me but for a while when I look into the mirror all I see is reflection of Grey Eyes what use to be.
