Insulated hearts hum softly,
keeping time through winter’s hush.
The world exhales in cold silence,
each breath a promise of snow.

On a frosty morning,
windows bloom with silver veins,
and even the quiet feels wrapped,
safe from the sharp edge of night.

This is simply breathtaking, Carol. You have a gift for painting the most serene, intimate winterscape with your words. The imagery of “insulated hearts” and “windows bloom with silver veins” is profoundly beautiful. You’ve captured not just the quiet of winter, but its protective, almost sacred warmth. Thank you for sharing this moment of perfect, hushed poetry.
