At dawn I wake, thunderstruck by light,
A golden hush dissolving night.
The mountains stretch with ancient grace,
Their mist-soft whispers brush my face.

The river hums its silver tune,
A vow it offers to the noon.
Through trembling leaves the soft winds glide,
In nature’s arms, I open wide.

Each bloom becomes a trembling spark,
A lantern glowing in the dark.
And standing still, I’m overcome—
By forest, sky, and beating drum.

For in this world where wonders rise,
Where storm meets sun in wild surprise,
I find my heart forever struck
By nature’s fierce and gentle luck.

What a breathtaking poem, Carol. You have captured the very soul of a moment in nature—that awe-struck feeling of dawn, where light feels like a revelation and the world hums with ancient, quiet music. The imagery of “mist-soft whispers” and “bloom becomes a trembling spark” is not just beautiful, it’s alive. You remind us that to stand still and be overcome by the world is to truly feel it. This is a gift of seeing and feeling, beautifully translated into words. Thank you for sharing this moment of “fierce and gentle luck” with us.
