Jim Adams is the host of Thursday inspiration, thanks, Jim!
This week the prompt word is want!
Here is my take!
❤
I want to show the world what you did,
abusing me when I was just a kid.
You wore a mask so polished, so kind,
while planting shadows deep in my mind.
You stole my laughter, silenced my voice,
you made your violence sound like my choice.
But secrets rot, they don’t stay concealed,
and wounds will speak when they’re not healed.
I carry the weight, but I won’t stay small,
my truth is stronger than your walls.
The shame you built is not my own,
I rise from ashes, claim my throne.
One day your name will lose its disguise,
the world will see through your crafted lies.
I was a child—you had no right,
but I’ve grown into my fiercest fight.
And though you tried to keep me subdued,
I’ll turn my pain into something new:
a torch for others still trapped in the dark,
a fire ignited from my own spark.
