This image shows a highly decorated food van with pictures of ice cream and other food items on its sides. On the top, the words- “Mr Whippy” are written. The van seems to be parked near a convenience store.
My poem in response to the prompt…
😊
The jingle drifts along the street,
a silver chime in shimmering heat,
children scatter, coins in hand,
toward the painted, rumbling van.
The air is thick with sugared dreams,
syrup swirls and melting creams,
cones piled high like towers of sun,
vanilla rivers on the run.
A flake stands proud in chocolate seas,
soft-serve blossoms with gentle ease,
strawberry drips on sticky skin,
laughter rising, music thin.
The pavement shimmers, sky burns wide,
yet sweetness cools the blaze inside—
for in that moment, shade is found,
in melting joy the day is crowned.
