“Master,” said the servant, “shall I call the staff to co-ordinate your route?”

The noble shook his head with a smile. “No need. Today I prefer a simple walk before I ride.”

The dog barked in agreement, dashing ahead like a seasoned runner, its paws quick and light. The noble followed, his heart lifting with each step. The air smelled of fresh earth, reminding him that not every pursuit required great expense—sometimes the truest value was found in the quiet rhythm of footsteps, the steady loyalty of a hound, and the promise of a day just beginning.
