Three Things Challenge #MM76 | pensitivity101
Some days,
the air still feels too thick to breathe—
memories press down like stones
on the chest of morning.
I wake
already beneath the weight of yesterday.
There is no switch,
no sudden hush to the noise
that trauma sings—
a long, low note of what was lost,
what was broken,
what still lives in the softest shadows
of touch.
But I have learned
to sit with the silence
after the storm.
To listen—not run—
when the pressure in my spine
builds like thunder.
Healing is not soft.
It does not arrive with rose water
or whispered prayers.
It comes with grit—
with the press of breath into lungs
when the body says no,
but the soul says keep going.
Some wounds don’t close
the way we want them to.
They stay open
just wide enough
to let the light in.
And I—
I am still learning how to carry
this beautiful, brutal history
like a flame cupped in my hands.
Not to hide it,
not to let it consume me,
but to walk with it
until it becomes
a torch.

Talk to me! I love comments!
