My thanks to Di for hosting 3TC! Our words today are blind, bind, abound.
Here’s my take!
Three Things Challenge #MM75 | pensitivity101
In the Dark, I See
I walk where colors do not bloom,
No blue of sky, no red of flame,
Yet in this quiet, sightless room,
The world still whispers just the same.
The tap of cane, a guiding thread,
Through shadowed streets and shifting stone,
Each footstep sings the path ahead—
I move, I feel, I am not alone.
I know the scent of morning light,
How jasmine stirs the sleeping air,
The hush before the birds take flight,
The sun’s warm hand upon my hair.
I read in voices, tones, and touch,
In echoes dancing off a wall,
Though sight is absent, I know much—
The world’s not dark, it’s simply small.
You see with eyes; I see with soul,
With fingertips and winds that bend.
Your gaze may find the parts, not whole—
But I perceive what lies past end.
There’s music in the way you speak,
A tremble when your truths unfold.
Your silence is a mountain peak,
Your laughter, rain that turns to gold.
So don’t you pity what I miss,
I’ve found my way without your view.
The world is more than sight’s soft kiss—
It’s every sound and scent and hue.
In blindness, I have learned to see
The kind of light that sets you free.
