Three Things Challenge #MM62 | pensitivity101

Before the sun breaks its promise of sleep,
I wake with the ache of something unnamed—
something that might tempt even silence to speak.
The wind is already restless, whispering stories
that feel prior to language, older than breath,
and I follow them barefoot into the thinning dark.

There is a hunger that does not starve,
a longing that exhausts itself only to return—
a tide pulling at the bones, at the stillness.
I walk as if toward someone I once knew,
before names, before skin,
when everything was only beginning to remember.

Each step is a question I can’t quite form.
Each shadow is a mouth that almost answers.
Still, I go on, tempted by the glint of something
just beyond understanding—
a moment, maybe, or a voice,
that once called me whole.
