I had therapy this morning and it was eventful.

First off I was late getting there. The taxi was late picking me up so I ended up being 5 minutes late. I had texted Eileen to let her know I’d be late.

Then we started to have a conversation about therapy and how we’ve had a lot of cancelations in the last 2 months, and how going fortnightly just doesn’t seem to be working for us because it feels as if there is big gaps between sessions.

We start opening up or working on memories, and then it is two weeks before we see Eileen again, and we start struggling.

We’re going to try to see if there is any way we can fix it. But our conversation was cut short because a phone call came in from Eileen’s son’s day service.

Her son has a developmental disability, and he goes to a day service, but they were calling today because he had a seizure when he got there this morning, and they had to get medical attention for him.

Eileen said he is a bad epileptic and he gets a lot of seizures. The staff at his day service panic when he gets them, but Eileen said she’s just used to him having them, plus, she’s a nurse, so she’s able to monitor him and observe him.

Anyway she came back into the room after taking the call, and she told me what happened. I immediately told her that she needed to go be with him at the hospital. She thanked me for being so understanding, and she kept apologizing for interrupting our session. It wasn’t even an issue for us.

Her son is more important than our session. My taxi driver had gone to get a coffee, so he was nearby. He came back and picked me up. I told Eileen to phone me to let me know that her son was ok, and she did, about an hour later.

I’m so glad he’s ok. The hospital are keeping him in for a few days to monitor him, Eileen went to sit with him to wait to see a doctor.

So yeah, an eventful session.
