Christmas memories

Today’s image is of some people all tangled up, playing twister!

I remember the year I got the game twister for Christmas.

I was about 10 years old. On Christmas day in the afternoon, after we’d all eaten dinner, we took out the game to play it.

It was so much fun!

Being blind, I had to have someone show me what to do, where to place my body parts on the mat, but I did it, I successfully played twister.

All of my family were amazed, and we had a lot of good laughs.

It is one of my best Christmas memories.

I got a lot of games for Christmas when I was a kid.

Just because I was blind, well, that never mattered, I always got games, and sometimes I needed help to play them, but my family were always up for helping me.

We spent many a Christmas day in the afternoon playing board games.

Fun times!

I am very lucky, despite being blind my family never treated me any differently so I was always treated the same as everyone else and I think it helped me in the long run 😁

I can’t say for sure, as I’m not in a position to, but I will say that I worked with a woman whose son was deaf. They never had him learn to read lips or sign!!! Now as an adult he is not able to get along with people and won’t do anything really as a group. I don’t blame him, but I do same shame on his parents for not preparing him better to be able to use his other abilities to get by better!

It’s a pity his parents didn’t prepare him more for the outside world and to use his abilities better his other senses I mean 😚😇

My sister and I got a Twister game at about that same age. Talk about a hoot! We got it out to play fairly often, and I don’t remember the adults being shy about it either. You’re right, good memories!
