From ashes of anguish

In the quiet of night, with my eyes tightly shut,

I bury the echoes where shadows once strut.

A lid on the memories that scream of the past,

Yet in the still silence, resilience is cast.

An abuse survivor, I tread through the pain,

Coping with sorrow, learning to dance in the rain.

Recovery’s a journey, daunting and long,

But each step I take turns despair into song.

For my story is woven with threads of the night,

Yet dawn smirks with promise, heralding light.

Though darkness may linger, I summon the day,

With embers of hope that refuse to decay.

Tomorrow will rise, a new day in sight,

Where the past can’t confine me, where I reclaim my light.

From ashes of anguish, my spirit will soar,

In the heart of the tempest, I’m learning to roar.

So here is my anthem, raw, bold, and real,

The strength of my journey is the strength that I feel.

With each breath of courage, I break through the haze,

For I am the dawn, and I’m lighting the ways.
