This week’s Story Starter teaser is:
The young girl turned to me and, with a plaintive expression on her face, said, “The fate of the world is in your hands now.”
What was I supposed to say back? That was a huge statement, and coming from someone so young.
Stepping forward, I clasped my hands in hers.
Don’t worry, I said, don’t worry, never fear. I will protect us both.
She didn’t look convinced. And to be completely honest, I wasn’t convinced either.
Was I up for the challenge?
Well, it didn’t look like I had much of a choice.
I would have to be! She was depending on me now!
