Not everyone you meet is going to treat you with respect.
For example, there are people who believe that you are there to meet their needs … or who expect you just to do whatever they think you should do.
They may not even want to know what healthy boundaries are … which means you need to set and enforce boundaries yourself.
But how do you go about doing this?
1. First, listen to and trust your intuition. Take your feelings of discomfort seriously. If you feel drained, exhausted, confused, anxious, pressured or “brain scrambled” around another person, they might be someone who violates your boundaries. Pay attention to those internal signs.
