Joe stumbled out of the pub. He’d had way too much to drink.
He opened his car door. He knew he shouldn’t drive, but he decided to throw caution to the wind.
He had always had a reckless streak in him.
As he turned the key in the ignition, he thought to himself that he was getting on now, maybe he shouldn’t drink and drive.
He pulled out, and swerved.
A woman was coming along the footpath, he almost hit her.
His head throbbed, the alcohol was causing him to see stars.
If he made it home in one piece, he’d be so thankful.
Suddenly he heard a cop car and in his rear mirror he saw them approach.
“Oh, shit”, he said.
He knew he was going to get caught and be in a lot of trouble for drunk driving.
Sure enough, the cops arrested him on the spot.
