Welcome to my world. Come on over, sit down and I’ll make you a coffee, some tea, a hot chocolate, a caramel latte, or, you could have some coke zero or some water.
Lets have a bit of a catch up!
First, I’d tell you our weather here in ireland has been so cold. It has been particularly cold today, and its set to be cold over the weekend, but we’re also set to have a lot of heavy rain!
I won’t be going anywhere. I’ll be staying warm and staying indoors.
I will have someone from the weekend mental health team coming out to visit me later on today. They are just checking in on me, making sure I am doing ok.
If we were having coffee, I would also tell you that I started a new medication on thursday night, its called mortazapine.
Its to help with my anxiety, but after taking the first dose, I felt really tired on Friday, my dr. said I’d be feeling tired for a while though but that the tiredness will eventually ware off. I hope so, as I hate feeling groggy and like I cant function.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you how excited I am that I finally was able to book my trip to go visit my best friend in colorado in May. We met online 10 years ago and now we are finally getting to meet each other in person! Its so exciting. I cant wait to hug her. We’re going to have so much fun together. She is blind like me and she has the same mental illnesses that I do.
Also if we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my mom seems to be doing a lot better since she got on her new meds for her cardiomyopathy and high blood pressure. She said the meds seem to be working well for her which I am so relieved to hear.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that next week is a quiet week for me. I have work, but other than that there is nothing much happening, I have no other appointments, just therapy on Monday.
How are you doing, how is your week going?

Sounds like your week was pretty good! I’ve been organizing a cute/funny home video night for Eagle’s school for today. Six families submitted videos and about 40 people watched the show tonight! I made a video too and hosted a game. We had fun!

Coffee always sounds great to me! It’s blustery cold here in Ohio. I hope your feeling a little better on your medication and I hope you have a great time in Colorado visiting with your friend in May.

That’s awesome that you’re finally going to meet your online friend! I hope you have a great time 🙂
It’s pretty cold and rainy here in Massachusetts too. I walked down to the road to the grocery store earlier and really regretted it (I have a car, but was like ‘meh, I’ll walk’).
Anyway, my week is good, just taking ghostwriting jobs and planning a writing course I’ll be teaching in April. Have a great rest of your day ❤

Hi Carol Anne, black coffee for me please. I am glad you are taking your new meds I am sure you will be used to them soon. It great that your mum is also feeling better on her meds too.
I am so pleased your holiday is all booked and sorted and you must be so excited by the prospect of finally meeting your friend…you are so brave. Now I don’t mean to cause offence but it will be busy if you both have multiple identities will they all surface or am I just being stupid? I know that the travel and meeting will be great for you both.
The weather here is dry and bright but very cold, there is a bad weather front coming in.
That coffee was very welcome is there another one going. I have nothing special planned for next week but no doubt something will occur. 😊

    Hi Carol Anne,
What a great treat it should be to meet your friend in Colorado soon.
Plus you are taking a long trip to get here. We used to live in Colorado so, depending on where you’re going, check the altitude of the place so you can set an unusual expectation. Many of the places in Colorado are at a very high altitude and thus someone who visits from a normal lower altitude place is surprised when they arrive and find themselves unable to do things like walking or exercising for very long without feeling exhausted and dizzy.
High altitude = thinner air = less oxygen with every breath.
It’s not dangerous but can be very uncomfortable and scary especially if you don’t know why you are so short of breath.
There are several things you can do to be more comfortable and if you never go to high altitude places, your body may not adapt easily, but you can take the edge off by knowing what steps you can take to be ready for it.
Ask you doctor(s) about things you can take, but extra water helps a lot as does just taking things slow and pausing for extra deep breathes often.
I hope you have a wonderful visit.
    Blessings.

Thanks for all that good advice, I will definitely be drinking plenty of water on the day that I travel to keep hydrated, I will also ask the doctor if there is something I can take for altitude sickness just in case thanks again xxx
