emotions bubble up
raw, and real
feelings simmer
beneath the surface
Of my mind
I try to push them away
to no avail
They penetrate every fibre of my being
Until I
Let them out
Little by little
I open up
As my world comes crashing down around me

You express the pain so vividly. Writing about pain is what got me started with poetry, and now, when I can remember, I try to write a resolution too – a flip side to such grief to balance the score. Immediately after reading this poem, I found myself adding: “and as every time, I rise again, pull myself from the depths.”
