Thanks Christine for the challenge! Today our picture is of monkeys riding bikes, and one has a trailer with people in the back!

Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 06/03/2025 – Stine Writing

Deep in the heart of the lush Mango Grove Jungle, where parrots chirped and waterfalls sang, there lived a band of adventurous monkeys who loved two things: bananas and bicycles.

It all began when Momo, the most curious monkey of them all, found a rusted old bicycle tangled in some vines near the river. With a little oil from crushed coconuts and some help from her tinkering friend, Kip, they fixed it up. When Momo zoomed through the trees on two wheels, the other monkeys watched with wide eyes and wide grins.

"I wanna ride!" shouted Kip, hopping up and down.

Soon, the jungle echoed with the sound of monkey giggles and squeaky bike horns. They found more old bikes left by forgotten campers and jungle explorers. Kip modified one to have banana peels for seat cushions. Lolo, the stylish monkey, decorated hers with flower garlands and mango-scented streamers.

It didn’t take long before an idea sparked: The Great Banana Bike Rally.

“Whoever finishes the course first gets the Golden Banana!” Momo announced, holding up a large, glittering banana carved from jungle amber.

The course twisted and turned through the whole jungle—over hanging vines, under swinging bridges, and through puddles of papaya juice. The monkeys trained day and night, balancing on one wheel, doing barrel rolls off termite mounds, and building ramps out of bamboo.

Race day arrived, and the jungle was buzzing. Even the sloths woke up early to watch.

“On your pedals… get set… GO!” shouted the toucan referee.

Momo zoomed ahead, Kip did a wheelie, and Lolo flipped her sunglasses dramatically before riding with style. There were crashes into bushes, playful banana peel skids, and even a detour through a lemur dance party.

In the end, just as the finish line appeared, Momo noticed a baby monkey stuck in a thicket of brambles. She skidded to a stop, helped the little one out, and let Kip and Lolo pass her. But when the race ended, and the Golden Banana was held high, the crowd chanted, “Mo-mo! Mo-mo!”

Because in the jungle, kindness always wins.

They all shared the prize, splitting the banana (well, not the golden one), and zipped off into the sunset on their squeaky, wobbly, joy-filled bicycles.

And so, every year, the jungle still hosts the Great Banana Bike Rally. And every year, the monkeys ride, not just to win, but to laugh, help each other, and ride like the wind. 🚴🍌🐒
